You may have noticed that this site has been down since Wednesday. The server in Germany crashed. I learned a few lessons from this unfortunate event. The Germans don’t work on weekends even to fix a crash that affects many sites and customers. – so much for Teutonic industriousness. In the USA the owners of a crashed server would have worked around the clock independent of the calendar until the problem was fixed. The other is to move to a server that is more reliable. I think I’ll give Amazon Cloud a try. Any server can crash, but I think Amazon would fix such an event faster that the current repair job..
