As I am under both doctor’s and dentist’s orders to avoid contact with Parsifal under any circumstances there will be no review of today’s telecast (scheduled to end Wednesday) of Wagner’s final opera. Instead here are the photos that were exhibited yesterday at the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra’s headquarters. The photos will be on view throughout the month. If you want to know why I must avoid Parsifal you can read these: The Ghost in the Machine and Parsifal Redux.
Well to each their own, but I personally love Parsifal. I listened on Sirius opening night, and then again on the radio Saturday. I guess I was “infected” too because I woke up Sunday morning and many of the leitmotifs were playing in my head. Can’t wait to see it live Tuesday night. I agree with William Berger (one of the announcers on Sirius Live From the Met). Parsifal is one of two operas that when it’s over you just want it to keep going! This will be my sixth Parsifal (5 at Met and 1 in San Francisco) and it’s almst a religous experience.
Nice pictures. Would have been nicer if you specify the settings, the lens used, the camera, the location, etc.
Where was the antique bike shot taken at?
