The pdf file below is the text of the presentation of The Founder’s Medal to Manuel Martinez-Maldonado. The address was given in New Orleans in 1991. As unbelievable as it may seem all the stories about Dr Martinez are true. The talk was accompanied by slides depicting the events described in the text. They were omitted from the published version because of limited space. If I can find them I’ll add them to this page.
